The Registration process involves:


  • Choosing your included Talking Mats Resource. Please review the available options - the standard Talking Mats resources - in preparation for making your selection as you register.


  • Payment by credit or debit card. If your organisation needs to provide a Purchase Order to receive a Tax Invoice there is a button to select for this payment option.


  • Registration and cancellation terms are below. *Please scroll down to read these.




Step 1: Start by completing your details for registration

Next you will select your city to choose the training session. Once selected you will be directed to our calendar app. Here you simply select the button displaying the start and finish time of the session, then "next".

Cancellation


Once your payment has been received your place on the training is confirmed.

If you need to cancel the following options apply:

Cancellation 30 days from event date: A refund can be made less $35 administration fee. Or the full amount can be held over and applied to the next event offered. (See next offer terms). Alternatively you can nominate another person to take your place on the course.

Cancellation 14 days from event:  A 50% refund can be offered. Or the full amount can be held over and applied to the next event offered. (See next offer terms). Alternatively you can nominate another person to take your place on the course.

Cancellation up to 7 days from the event and unable to attend on the day due to unforeseen circumstances:  No refund is possible. (See next offer terms). Alternatively you can nominate another person to take your place on the course, however the Talking Mats resource selected cannot be changed, and it may not be possible to accommodate specialised catering.


"Next Offer" terms


If you choose to have your funds held over to apply to the next training the following terms apply.

A place will be offered the next scheduled event in your region or that you are prepared to travel to. If you choose this option your name will be placed on a standby list for the next suitable training events and a place will be offered.  A re-booking fee is payable in each case of $95.00. If this option is chosen upon your cancellation we will issue an invoice which is payable in 30 days to secure your place.

If the next date offered is unsuitable, we can hold the “next offer” to one more event. Offers cannot be made ongoing and will not be possible after 2 years from your original event which was not attended.

The timeline of “next offer” events cannot be guaranteed and maybe more than 12 months away depending on your location.


"Substitute participant" terms


Substitute Participant: If you are unable to attend but can nominate a colleague or another suitable candidate to take your place, this should be notified as soon as possible. If the notification is within 7 days of the event it is very difficult to accommodate specialised catering notification, administrative changes and change to selected Talking Mats resource.  We will assist as best we can but tight-time lines may mean changes are not possible.

Other notes

Your training fees cannot be transferred to the online training fee as this program is operated by Talking Mats U.K. If you are booking flights and accommodation you may wish to take out travel insurance to cover other costs incurred in the event of cancellation by either party.


If We Cancel


If due to unforeseen circumstances we need to cancel the event, a full refund will be offered. If you prefer us to hold funds and transfer these to the next event this option will be offered if available.


Our Aim


We understand that circumstances change and cancellation may be necessary or unexpected events may intervene in your plans and best intentions to attend your booked event.  Our aim is to keep the events as affordable as possible and the events are carefully costed to maintain pricing. The Talking Mats events require considerable administration and organising many months out and while we wish we could be more generous with refunds and the “next offer” and “substitute participant” terms we have often paid most of the event costs well in advance.  This means if cancellations occur closer to the event date we have created the certificates and invoices, ordered the Talking Mats resources, liaised with the venue regarding numbers and dietary requests and managed the participant list and queries over the organising period, and any amendments may not be possible and create added costs. If your place cannot be filled by a substitute participant, costs will be incurred. If cancellation is made some weeks out we still may be able to fill the place by another participant. So we hope you find the terms fair and reasonable, but of course if you feel extenuating circumstances apply we are happy to discuss your situation.
